Editing -1 (Word Power)

 Editing means to correct the sentences.  There may be some mistakes /errors in the given sentences  & we have to make correction. 

It is of 2 types - 

- Error (to replace wrong word with right word).

- Omission (to find missing word and write it in right place) .

Editing is based on grammar.  All topics of grammar Should be revised well before doing Editing. 

Here, we shall discuss Editing based on noun only. 

Example -  Error - (correct colour words) . 

1. Mohan and Hari Singh has been watching TV.

2. These peoples are very gentle.  

3. I love reading storys.

4. There are  two table in the room. 

5. I got my photoes  clicked. 

6. His brother have done their work. 

7. Many page are missing from this book.

8. I have two ox.  

9. Riya reads a newspapers daily.

10. A few minute are enough for this job. 

Note - We should revise all topics of nouns well.  

Exercise -2 Error - 

1. Honest is a virtue. 

2. I always speak the true.

3. Raman has done good doings.

4. He delivered a fine speak.

5. I made a quick revise of my syllabus.  

6. It is a wonderful seen.

7. Did you ever read my sing?

8. He always gives sweet to the beggars.

9. The teacher brought two new shelf in the class. 

10. He wants two hundred rupee. 

Do every sentence very carefully. 

Exercise -3  Error of Noun - 

1. These cattles are grazing in the field. 

2. Mouse will play when the cat is away. 

3. He is bringing a new stories book.

4. He is writing a latter to his father. 

5. Winds is blowing. 

6. He sells fishes.

7. The peoples are going to the fair.

8. Men is mortal.

9. Neither you nor your friends is to blame.

10. Two gardener are planting the trees.

Let's discuss Count able &  uncountable  Nouns. 

Countable   e Nouns (c n ) are those Which can be expressed in numbers (can be counted).

Example - Chair,  boy, star, pen, book etc.

Note - c.n. can be changed into plural nouns.

Example  - 

Table- tables

Cow. - cows

Child - children 

Star.  - stars    etc. 

Uncountable Nouns are those Which cannot be expressed in number. 

Example  - Water, chocolate,  money, time, tea, milk, sugar,  flour etc.

Note - c.n. can be changed into plural nouns.

 - Boys  - boys

 - Box  - boxes

- Story - stories  etc.

Important Points about nouns- 

- We use singular verb with uncountable Nouns.

- We use singular & Plural verbs with Countable Nouns.    

Example - 

1. Money is very important for me. 

2. This boy is very smart. 

3. These boys are very smart. 

4. Water is most valuable for life.

5. A child of your class is naughty but most children are very sincere.  

6. A pair of shoes is very costly.  

Note -  Uncountable Nouns can be changed into Countable Nouns  - 

1. Soap.           - a cake of soap.

2. Chocolate   - a bar of chocolate 

3. Water.         - a glass of water

4. Money.        - coin, rupee.

5. Coffee         - a mug of coffee.

6. Time.          - minute, hour

7. Sugar          - a KG of sugar    etc.
